I first played through LN3 on launch with a friend, poor internet the sounds of a roaring thunderstorm and some ill-placed hype (packed with skepticism.) At the start it seemed like a promising start with interesting puzzles and a decent enough environment with the Necropolis, that was, until we got to the Monster Baby. To me, the baby didn't fit anything we've seen before, it wasn't some corrupted elongated individuals or someone with some sort of telekinesis, it was just a giant possessed baby. It especially seemed off with the games core element being the size of the character in what has been described as a "playhouse" style of gameplay, so what would be the purpose of making them even smaller feeling with something gargantuan. Despite that I was interested in the idea of seeing the real world with Low and The Counties. However that's not without my biggest gripe being the almost necessary requirement to have listened to the Sounds of Nightmares Podcast in order to understand or attempt to understand the entirety of the game. Even still, the game couldn't even get the podcast information correct with Noone's patient number being incorrect in what is called her game being #1229 instead of patient number #1220 as said by Otto. (In the first episode of the podcast, no less.)
