Here's the Alice in Wonderland Quote on the texture!
Pictured here is the Developer Note for staying curious!
Little Nightmares I, formerly Hunger, is the game of the franchise I often overlook, especially the DLCs, mainly because of the second game being my favorite, but also because of the length of the game. Little Nighmares I is short and sweet. It has a great sea-bound atmosphere and really strong ending, only made better by the soundtrack of the game, like Six's Theme Part II, has an intense build up as Six goes through the "lobby" of the Maw on her way towards the exit, a grandiose finish to a game where it felt like nothing was in your control until the end, with each gut wrenching Hunger scene especially the poor nome. That's not even the only example of the soundtrack being in the forefront. Room With a View, the track that plays at the end of The Hideaway DLC, is one of the most somber tracks in the game, making the player really feel like everything was at a loss, as we became the Nome, and then the final reveal that the Runaway Kid was the Nome Six ate was devastating. It really set the tone for the series, though, I believe the series has gone further away from that tone even with Little Nightmares II. As big as it felt, I feel like it already had what I would call the "decay" of the tone set from the first game. Maybe its because of a locale shift, or something deeper. What I do know is that the series has yet to encapsulate the desolate, loneliness found in the "Prison" chapters of the game, and echoed in the track "Parasites". It also had a very consistent story, not really seen in Little Nightmares II, and especially not Little Nightmares III. For as short of an experience Little Nightmares I, is it perfectly displays the core ideas of the series, back when it was simplified before it was too complex in my opinion like in Little Nightmares III. I have been fond of the idea of it being abstract, almost dreamlike world and liked that it could exist outside of the "real world" or "The Counties" as it would come to be in later installments. However one thing I have always enjoyed is the "appeal to a need" theme between Little Nightmares I and II (Not so much as III but mainly because I haven't found one.) but I think the developers even thought of this idea as much with a quote found in the files "I'm afraid I can't explain myself, sir. Because I am not myself, you see?" Where a common theme is losing yourself between the games, like parts of you are missing and that rings especially true for Little Nightmares I with the Lady's vanity being the major part of her character to hide herself behind a mask. Ultimately, the best part of the series is the theorizing, but hopefully one day we can here some concrete answers about the Nowhere. Until then "Stay Curious!"
I DIDN'T HAVE A PLACE FOR THIS! BUT HERE ARE SOME SWEET STAMPS!
