My Love for Source
The Source Engine has played a major part of my life, through memories with friends and introducing me to new mediums, or even just entertainment. When I was little, the first thing I would do in the morning is play rounds of Counter Strike 1.6, though not Source laid the groundwork for my eventual affinity for the engine. Just its simple, fast-paced gameplay was always enough to get my little self hyped and ready for the day ahead. But it wasn't until my introduction to Garry's Mod on this "new" platform Steam, did my fixation with the engine begin. I saw some of my favorite YouTubers of the time, experiment with some random mods of the era, Minecraft NPC, and some early, odd looking Five Nights at Freddy's NPCs, that I became hooked.

At the time, we had a barely functioning laptop, running Garry's Mod at 20fps with no-mods installed, and almost a guaranteed crash if we tried to go to the addon options. But it was still an amazing experience, a refreshing, sandbox environment where I could do whatever albeit with the limit of the computer. It was "the" game for me, even when Minecraft had been a thing on our Xbox 360 with a 75% chance of red-ringing on launch, I had almost always chosen Garry's Mod to be my game of choice. There, I got my foot into 3D animation with some poorly made animations on a since dead channel called SimplePhys, and got to make some bad LUA scripting on some of my earliest addons on Steam. But the Source engine has always been a gateway to some of my best portions of my life like playing with friends or just doing my own thing after school was out. With that being said, I still use the source for some of my own things with a recent affinity for the faceposer tool since I always loved seeing what people did with it back in the day, even if it is grossly unintuitive. To this day I get to make new memories which I'll blog about I guess, on my next page Source Stories, and if your interested I'll be doing some recreations too!
